This sight has some good information!  I have never thought about the description “hidden” leader.  There are four key identifiers: Demonstrate Integrity, Lead through Relationships, Focus on Results and Remains Customer Purposed.

Integrity- Strong quality of honesty, having morals and principles

Relationships-Connection

Results-The outcome you need or want to happen

Customer Purposed- Keeping teammates first, important-growing your team

Leadership styles of men and women Eagly and Johannesen Schmidt 2001

I am going to follow up with some more research on Male vs. Female leadership.  I may just change my topic.  Not sure what kind of time I will need to change my direction.  I feel circumstances will depend on whether you need a female or male in the leadership role.

I believe most men probably lead with masculinity/head and most females lead with their emotions/heart.  So in some roles leading either way could be detrimental!  A nice balance in a leadership role might be a fit for many situations.

Mal’s leadership vs. Zoe’s leadership-

Mal is smart, brave, knows if a situation is not right.  He knows when to fight and when to walk away.

Zoe is brave, smart, a soldier-trained, practical, and intensely trained in tactics and strategy.  She likes to make things happen.  Her best asset is how she follows orders?  Now is that because she is a female?  Maybe I should do an argumentative paper on female and male leadership roles?

Part of the difficulty of the creative process is to sift through the thousand possible wonderful ideas, and find one to execute on.

The importance of Leadership

How to lead, how to lead-

The chapter posted on this site is going to be a great resource for me and my paper.  I believe we need understand why leadership is important.  Once we understand why it is important we can research further on why trusting leadership is important.  In my opinion the importance of leadership is trust.  Trust is needed to build any empire; faith, business, family, political, and social just to name a few.  I hope once I have completed all of my research I can narrow down some major points to leadership trust.

Mr. Sims is showing us some ways to manage information and taking notes.  How to organize the information we find.  Phone note apps, voice recorder apps, bookmarking apps, file manager apps, To-do list.  Bookmarking websites are listed in our book(chapter 6).

Why should we take notes and how we should take them? Chose a method and use it consistently.

Strategies for skimming sources: what’s important and knowing what is useful.  Find highlights of article to write a paragraph for annotated bibliography.  Section headings, read first and last sentence to see if it worth your time to read.  Does it have the information you need.

Look for pull quotes-highlights key ides.

Mr. Sims showed a power point on how to research within the AUM library.  We need one source from the Library, scholarly (peer reviewed) journal, a source from the web and bring them to class on Wednesday.  He gave us three Library sources; Periodical, Reference book or Bibliography and Specialized Encyclopedia.  We can use these sources for tools in researching for our final paper.  We need to go to the library and actually locate these sources.
