Covey, Stephen M.R. The Speed of Trust: The One Thing that Changes Everything.

New York. Simon and Schuster Inc. 2006. Print.

Trust is a choice so it is imperative that leaders know how to build and create with speed.  The quicker trust is built the faster productivity will increase.

Simply phrased, trust means confidence. The difference between high and low trust is tangible. When team members have trust in leadership mistakes can be overlooked. If team members have little or no trust in their leadership mistakes are not overlooked, they are always on the surface.

Consistency is important for fostering trust. Trust is built with character and competence in leadership. Think of trust as an account.  All accounts are not created equal, there are deposits and withdrawals.  Therefore when I deposit needs to be made make it and when a withdrawal needs to be made make it.  Keep the account balance and consistency will gain trust.
